  1. The lead of a low card by partner is hopefully from
  2. a long suit.  Dummy doesn't have much and if I can
  3. believe in the rule of eleven*, declarer doesn't have
  4. much either.

  6. When partner leads 4th down, subtract the value of
  7. partner's card from eleven.  The difference is the
  8. number of cards higher than partner's in the other
  9. three hands.  By counting dummy's cards higher and
  10. mine, I can arrive at the number of cards higher
  11. in declarer's hand.
